Patriot Ranks Top on WaPo Challenge Index!

The recently released 2015 Washington Post Challenge Index ranks Patriot in the top percent for the district, the state, and even nationally out of the 22,000 high schools evaluated! In PWCS, Patriot is ranked the highest of all PWCS high schools! The Challenge Index ranks high schools in relation to the rigorous, college-level, courses students are encouraged to take. Community Conversation on Teen Stress

Registration is now open for the 2nd Annual Community Conversation on Teen Stress: Fostering Wellness and Resiliency. The event will be held May 9, 2015 at Hayfield Secondary School from 8:30am-2:30pm. There will be several wonderful speakers and breakout sessions. International Night

Come to celebrate International Night with the Spanish and French honor society induction ceremony May 19, 6:00pm - 8:00pm. We need you to bring a dish, artifacts, clothing, fabric, etc. that represents the diversity of our Patriot community. The food ingredients must be labeled. Please see Ms. Martinez if you have any questions.

Class of 2017 Spirit Wear - SALE EXTENDED

Patriot High School's Class of 2017 will be holding a spirit wear sale! Crewnecks are $20 and t-shirts are $10. Orders can be placed in Room 1122 before or after school Checks can be made out to: Patriot High School. Contact Ms. Augustine in Room 1122 with any questions and to place orders. You may also email Ms. Augustine at: augustlb@pwcs.edu.
Patriot Booster Club Scholarships

The Patriot Booster Club is proud to sponsor two scholarships of $1,000 each for one boy and one girl Senior Class of 2015. The scholarships recognize students that have supported Booster Club sponsored events while attending Patriot High School. Every senior that has participated in Booster Club events is encouraged to apply. The deadline for applications is May 7, 2015. You can find the application form here.
Seniors: Where Are You Heading?

Attention Seniors! Your student newspaper, "The Charge," wants to know where you are going after PHS. Are you going to college? Are you joining the work force? Are you going into the military? Let us know so we can publish it in our last issue! Click here for the form. The deadline is May 1.

SOL Testing

Presenting Thoroughly Modern Millie!

The Patriot Players will close the theatre season this year with Thoroughly Modern Millie  on April 30, May 1, and May 2, at 7:00 PM each evening. Tickets are  $7.00 and will be available at the box office at 6:15 on each show night. Come join us for a great show!
Students Chosen for Governor's School!

Congratulations to Sarah Merrill and Cami Toribio for being chosen to attend the 2015 Summer Residential World Language Governor's School. Sarah will be attending the Japanese Partial-Immersion Academy and Cami will be attending the Spanish Immersion Academy. Acceptance into these academies is extremely competitive and we are very proud of both of them. Way to go!

 

PTSA Spirit Wear Sale

Patriot's PTSA is selling individual Class T-Shirts at a discounted price. Stop by during lunch and pick up your Class of 2015, 2016, 2017 & 2018 T-shirts. ALL T-shirts are priced at $3 through April 30.  

Checks can be made payable to: PHS PTSA. Proceeds from the sale will be donated to our Scholarship fund.

Prom Tickets Go on Sale April 6!

Prom tickets will be on sale April 6-May 15. Students wishing to attend prom must complete the necessary dance contracts prior to purchasing a ticket. Ticket prices begin at $40 for a single ticket or $70 for a couple's ticket and will rise over the course of the sales window. Purchase your tickets early to get the best price!
Mr. Patriot Pageant

It's time for the 2nd Annual Mr. Patriot Pageant! The bit event will take place May 9, 7:00pm, in the auditorium. All applicants interested in participating should sign-up at http://tinyurl.com/PatriotPageant. The deadline for the application is on April 10! All applicants will be chosen by an anonymous panel, so stay in tuned to find out about who will make it to the next round! This is sure to be spirited, fun, time!

 

Autism Awareness 5K Walk/Run-UPDATED

Saturday, May 9, 8:00am will be the 2nd Annual "Supporting Autism Awareness Around the World" 5K Walk/Run at Patriot High School. Click here for the details.

Military Service Academy Night

Congressman Gerry Connolly and PWCS will host and information session Monday, April 20, 7:00-9:00pm at Freedom High School for students interested in attending one of the military service academies. Click here for more information.

There will be a similar event hosted by Senator Mark Warner Saturday, March 28, In Charlottesville. Click here for more information.
Office365 and Microsoft Office 2015

This year, in addition to their Patriot Google Apps account, PWCS has provided students with Microsoft Office365 accounts. With this account, students may download Microsoft Office 2013 on up to five of their personal devices. Click here to access the video tutorial on how students are to login to their Office365 account and where they can download the software.
